Finance Assistant

Baar, Hybrid

The role

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join the team in Baar, Switzerland on a permanent part- time (60-80% of full-time) basis to support with finance and general office administration.  This is an opportunity to join a small, fast-paced, entrepreneurial organisation.  In this role, you will liaise and engage with internal and external customers to resolve issues, ensure that billing and invoicing is completed in a timely manner, assist with credit control, and provide assistance to the Finance Manager as required. The ability to work confidently in both English and German is essential.

What you will do to succeed

-Process sales invoices on a daily basis and maintain sales reporting requirements
-Manage credit control process
-Process purchase invoices and arrange payments
-Reconcile bank receipts and payments
-Complete and file quarterly VAT reports and annual Tax submission report
-Assist with annual financial year end closing and preparation of financial statements
-Prepare documentation for annual financial audit
-Liaise with HR, legal and IT functions as required, and with the Customer Support Team to drive process improvements from order entry through to billing
-Establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels to resolve issues and provide solutions
-Proactively engage with the wider office team to add value to this exciting business
-General office administration including opening mail, ordering supplies, health & safety duties, and other adhoc queries and requests as required
-Support the Swiss Finance Manager and deputise as required
-Assist with the implementation of D365 in Switzerland

What you're great at

-  Strong passion for finance and accounting with a Certificate of  Finance and Accounting or comparable, FA in Accounting or equivalent
-  Advanced excel spreadsheet skills and computerized financial applications

-  Ability to prioritise workload to make best use of the time to meet deadlines
-  Working independently, with hands-on agility
- Work calmly under pressure 
- High attention to detail
- Confident in communications and able to build and nurture relationships with external and internal customers

Other requirements

- Strong English and German language skills (C1-C2 in both) are required
- Must have hold a valid work permit, eligible to work in Switzerland
- This is a hybrid role, with the ability to be in the Baar office 1-2 days per week
