Cloud Engineer - Internal

Your purpose in the role

As the Cloud Engineer you will take a leading role in the support and operations of our services ensuring it is highly available and meets our needs for robust security, reliability, and user productivity. You will be responsible for the support and administration of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and our global infrastructure including networks and desktop services to support and maintain our device build process and security patching.

What you’ll do to succeed

• Work effectively with internal teams and 3rd party vendors to successfully support our global 
infrastructure and platform services
• Assist in the identification of root causes and fixes for major incidents where required
• Act as point of escalation for service delivery and business system teams for the resolution of 
infrastructure and platform-based incidents
• Manage our team incidents to resolution, fulfil requests and manage the operational environment as 
• Establish and run steady state checks and monitoring to ensure that all services are running optimally and are well manage
• Produce performance, capacity and uptime monitoring matrices and dashboards
• Ensure systems are correctly monitored and alerts generated and responded to appropriately
• Support the business change activities to ensure service operations
• Administration and configuration of our M365 and Azure Tenants working closely with Cloud Specialist
• Establish and support a server, desktop and mobile devices management platform for endpoints 
providing inventory, software distribution, operating system imaging, settings, and security management.
• Utilise MECM to proactively manage equipment life cycles, efficiently deploy software and policies in a consistent manner, and provide data for troubleshooting issues

What you’re great at

• Demonstrate a broad range of core technical proficiencies and knowledge across the Microsoft Stack in particular Windows Operating Systems, Azure IAAS, Azure AD, Microsoft 365 and MECM
• Have achieved or working towards Microsoft Foundation and Associate certifications within Azure and M365
• You will have hands-on experience as a System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar with operational service experience
• You will have excellent knowledge of issue management and fault resolution, patch management and system maintenance, continual service improvement, scripting knowledge/skills (PowerShell) and the ability to understand and adapt quickly to new requirements, environments and software
• Good customer facing skills, problem solving, and diagnostic skills are essential
• Good understanding of the ITIL V4 Framework
