Senior Product Owner

UK, Remote
Who are we?

Insights is a Learning and Development company with Product and Innovation at our heart. Our purpose is to create a world where people truly understand themselves and others and are inspired to make a positive difference in everything that they do.

Our preference-based learning solutions have impacted millions of lives worldwide and our product portfolio helps our customers to positively transform their people, their teams, and their whole organisations.

What’s the job?

As a Senior Product Owner at Insights, you are accountable for the communication and delivery of our product vision and direction to your domain squad. You will be the voice of the customer, establishing objectives, goals and measuring success. In addition, you will be supporting other squads, as well as Service Design function from a BA perspective, helping with refinement, journey mappings and documentation.

Working alongside senior leadership, service designers and fellow product owners, you will lead a cross-functional squad of engineers, QA and design colleagues responsible for the continuous improvement of an assigned domain of journeys and services, whilst building a prioritized backlog of value-focused user stories.

What you’ll do to succeed

  • Product ownership: You can manage delivery products and services. You know about the tools, terms and concepts used to deliver a product and how they can be applied to different phases of delivery. You can ensure the team is working towards the appropriate service standards for the relevant phase.

  • Business Analysis: You possess the ability to deeply understand business processes and requirements, applying critical analysis to identify areas for improvement. You are well-versed in various methodologies, tools, and frameworks, and can adapt these to suit the unique needs of any project. Your expertise enables you to bridge the gap between stakeholders' expectations and the technical team's deliverables.

  • Cross-Functional Agility: You are adept at navigating the dynamic landscape of business needs, seamlessly transitioning between the roles of Product Owner and Business Analyst as required. With a deep understanding of both domains, you can effectively manage product delivery while also excelling in detailed business analysis. Your flexibility allows you to adapt to the evolving demands of projects, ensuring that you can lead with a product ownership mindset when prioritizing and strategizing, or adopt a business analyst perspective to dissect and articulate requirements and processes.

  • Agile practices: You have had experience in applying Agile principles and Scrum framework in practice. You can facilitate and adopt a clear, open and transparent framework in which teams can deliver.

  • Digital perspective: You are responsive to changes in technology, adapting your approach accordingly. You understand the journey of digital product delivery and launch.

  • User focus: You can identify needs and engage with customers or stakeholders to collate requirements. You are experienced in meeting the needs of users across a variety of channels.

  • Communication skills: You know how to facilitate discussions within a multidisciplinary team, with potentially difficult dynamics. You can act as an advocate for each stakeholder and manage differing perspectives and decisions.

How you’ll show up

You’ll have previous experience of Product Ownership & Business Analysis, working with UX/UI, Research, QA and software engineering teams. You’ll be inspired, motivated and committed to the purpose and vision of Insights, and help our customers to achieve their goals through simple and insightful people development.

You’ll have outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills and take personal responsibility for how you work with your colleagues, valuing differences and building open, honest and respectful relationships.

You’ll be comfortable working with autonomy, using your own initiative and taking ownership of tasks and projects from start to finish. You’re able to embrace failure and are open to positively, collaboratively and constructively critiquing and evaluating your work and the work of colleagues.

You will bring a track record in delivering customer-facing digital solutions and platforms and are skilled in building, managing, and communicating product backlog and product roadmaps.
